Emily and Meg Surgery and Scans
As they say when it rains it pours. We are going to have to ask for a little help again.
We’re very worried about Emily. She has suddenly lost some mobility in her back legs, she’s stumbling and falling and has a pain response in her neck. The symptoms and her reflexes are indicative of spinal compression but don’t quite add up, the vets think it’s quite a rare place or places, for cancer to have mastacised to, so she is going in for a CT scan at Advance Vet Care tomorrow to give us a better idea of what might be happening. We hope beyond hope her cancer hasn’t spread, and so quickly, but if it has at least we’ll know what we’re dealing with, but we also hope it’s not a serious spinal injury. This darling little angel just deserves the world and we are so upset at these recent developments. We need to know if we are now treating palliatively and keeping her as comfortable as we can, or if it’s something else, and there is something we can do.
Tomorrow we also have Meg in for her ear surgery. Her specialist Chris Franklin will be performing an ear ablation, as her ear is deseased and narrowed meaning her ears are constantly full, fluidy, mucky, with recurring infection, pain and discomfort. It’s like the whole ear canal will be removed but it will mean she has will never have the pain and discomfort again.
We have been quoted
between $1700 and $2500 at least $2000 for Emily’s scan (updated after speaking to the surgeon, as she will need a myelogram as well to get a good view inside her spinal chord), and up to $2000 for Megs ear surgery.
As we don’t know exactly how much things are going to cost yet for Emily , we are going to ask if you feel you could help us out with raising
$3,700, $4000 (updated to include the cost of Emily’s myelogram it will at least help up with the bulk of the cost. We don’t want to ask for more than we need, that’s important to us, so if the costs end up being much more than this we’ll update things when we know.
We thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us to help them xx
