About Me
I live in Geelong, in Newtown, the older part of central Geelong. I have 2 little dogs both rescued from puppy farms, Teddy and Zoe. They are both small 'designer dogs' bred for sale in pet shops. I also have a 14 year old second hand cat that I found as a stray 12 years ago, and 4 ducks who were saved from the processing plant and now live a life of comfort in my back yard, laying eggs and sitting on my flowers. I work in real estate, in property management which is a great challenge. Sadly I lost my husband 13 years ago and so now it's just me, Teddy, Zoe, Mimi and the feathered foursome. I've been campaigning for years against puppy farms, selling animals in petshops and markets. Recently, I've been involved in the push for Oscars Law and the protests about GAWS down here in Geelong. I've also been associated with Animals Australia for about 8 years, trying to get reforms passed in the live animal export trade, and sometimes it's like banging your head against a brick wall but to give up is to give in and that's never going to happen.

The only way to totally shut down puppy farms is to stop buying their products. If you know anyone considering buying a pet, tell them to adopt from a shelter not buy from a pet shop. Only when demand for puppies declines will puppy farmers reduce breeding ... they are solely concerned with profits not the animals welfare.
