In the Arms of An Angel........

Lyrics from Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" shows exactly our feelings towards our beloved Sooty, and how cared for he is these days.

For a break that would make it okay

There’s always one reason

To feel not good enough

So convinced were we that Sooty was so ill and suffering so badly, I organized with the vet, once he arrived at the clinic, that I would come and hold him while he was euthanased.  None of us in RWL who  knew about him during his time in the pound could stand the thought he would die alone.  With great fortune, our vet informed us that apart from the tumours (which we removed) and general old age issues such as arthritis, being a little deaf, and having low vision, Sooty still had some time left.  His compassionate foster Mum and Dad said he could stay for as long as he wanted to.  And so Sooty stays. 

Mum Helen said never have the been touched by a dog in all the years of fostering for RWL like they have been with Sooty.

." I don't think a dog has affected us as much as this little man has.  You want to see him run towards me when Fred let's him out when we get home....he 'gallops' falls over, stumbles, but he keeps on coming to where he thinks I am, he's so happy to see us. Sooty's favourite spot these days, alseep on Fred's knee. He's just realized what it's like to be loved. "

Thankyou Helen and Fred for showing the real heart of what Rescued With Love entails.  While we do not have enormous funds, a large premises, or a high profile, we definitely show love, compassion, kindness & respect for every animal which we can take into care.  Sooty, you are indeed in the Arms of Angels.  May you find some comfort there.

Dearest sweet sootie you are indeed in the arms of angels with Helen and Fred. I know because they cared for our Gracie Girl and seeing this picture reminded me when Gracie came to us for the first time Fred held her in the same way and they chatted as Gracie stared lovingly into Fred's eyes. Helen and Fred are two very special caring people with a lot of love and compassion. Gracie is in heaven now and we miss her but will forever be grateful to Helen and Fred for loving and caring for her. Lots of love, hugs and kisses Sootie Helen and Fred xxxx

I think I've stuffed up somewhere, that wasn't meant to happen!!!!

What is supposed to be there is how proud I am to be a part (even a small one) of RWL. The work you guys do is amazing. Just seeing Sootie 'before' and 'after' speaks volumes about the work you all do.

Sooty, now I know exactly why you blossomed so quickly, you have the SUPREME earth angels looking after you, you couldn't have had a better Mummy and Daddy if you chose them yourself, Helen and Fred thankyou, the photo of Sooty on Freds knee made me cry, but joyful tears xxxlove to you both and the gorgeous Sooty xxxx Lois and her band of Fur People xxxx

We also know how caring Helen and Fred are as they cared for our beautiful girl Lucy {Lacie}. Sooty is in the best place with the best people. Thankyou for giving so much to these wonderful little souls. xxx

Helen & Fred , you are champions.Like everyone else I too had tears looking at the photo of Fred & Sooty. That dear little chap, he just knows he is loved & feels safe in his dad's arms. I am so proud to be associated with RWL, it's only a small part, but it was the best thing I ever did to find RWL on the internet.I hope with all my heart you will go from strength to strength. What an amazing life you have given Lord Soots. I cried when I saw this photo this morning. Has quite an impact on ones soul to see how things should be for him, and so many more. I hope he gets through winter and beyond for a long time with the love and care he so deserves. Thankyou Helen and Fred for the work you do.

Oh how lovely to see...such a difference from the first photo of Sooty...the one that made me cry tears of anger for the unfairness of it all. WOW..you guys are wonderful and amazing to open your home to him...thank you from the bottom of my heart. xxxxx

Kae, you say RWL doesn't have a high profile.....that picture of Sooty in Fred's arms is all the profile you need. That's how it should be for animals, safe and warm, and wanted.

Darling Sooty, tears of happiness run down my face as I post this comment. You look so contented which of course comes from knowing you are safe and very much loved. Good on you Fred and Helen. I am sure Sooty gives you as much joy as you receive from him. Love and hugs to you all.
