Trooper - a journey of love

Posted by knorman on July 22, 2010 at 5:48 AM

Trooper came to us in a state that was appalling.  Suffering badly from Dermodectic mange he had received from his mother, he was collected by a ranger who thought he had been hit by a car he was bleeding so profusely.  Wrapped in a towel and taken to the pound they discovered that he was bleeding from scratching, untreated, and miserable, he was without a doubt a little dog suffering badly from neglect on every level.  Here is a pic of Trooper the day he came to us, you can see all the fur missing on his face, and over his chest and body.

Trooper was treated and adopted by a loving family and today we received a fantastic update of 'Harry" who was Trooper.

Have a look at what some love and care can do. Thankyou to Davina and family for the amazing work and dedication it has taken to look after a 9 month old boy who had such a terrible start in life.

What a beautiful looking boy he is now. Just shows what love & good food can do , not to mention all the work to get his skin right. Really a marvellous job all round & well done to everyone involved with his rehabilitation.xxxx

Harry/trooper on the red carpet! he is defiently leading the good life now :) he looks so amazing :) well done everyone who was involved. one of my dogs has a skin condition that leaves him (and me) in discomfort and stress, nothing like what harry has been through though, he is a real trooper!

Harry, it's stories like yours that make rescue so worth while.... no chance in the pound system, and how you must have suffered.
Just look at you now young man, bright eyes shining, knowing you are loved and have a great life to look forward to. xxx

Harry, you look so good and it's great to see that you have a wonderful home and family. Can't believe people can be so cruel to have you in such an appalling condition when you were rescued. Harry on the red carpet, you are definitely a star and worth the accolades !!! xxx/ooo

Trooper you are a shining example of rescue and loving care by very special people in the community.
Where you have come from is one of the best examples of cruelty and abject neglect.
I do wonder what happened to your mother who also suffered this dreadful condition.
Thank you to your kind owners for their loving care of Trooper.
