Penny's surgery tomorrow.

Remember Penny who had lived her entire life in an outside run? Unsocialized, terrified, Penny was not worth anything to the Breeder who was handing out his stock he no longer used and Penny was scooped up by a Rescue Group along with those dogs being taken into care.  When a call for help came from the group RWL responded and took Penny into care, and she has done well, responding to training in the house, guidelines with how to behave and yesterday FINALLY, FINALLY (we all silently clapped) Penny played with Portia, for the very first time.  For a little 12 month old dog who has no idea how to play is very upsetting.  They are meant to play.  And Penny, smart as a whip, has taken this huge change in lifestyle and embraced it to become a happy girl, and will do beautifully from now on with the right family.  We hope that she will be given more training as she loves the challenge, some dogs just do, and she is definitely one of them.

Tomorrow Penny is having her first patella surgery.  She has to have her first leg done because she has bone grating on bone.  At 12 months that is not good news at all.  Once she is recovered from that, we will do the other.  We know many of you donated, particularly Steph (Indy's Mum, thankyou :)) and we wanted to keep you up to date with her progress.  Penny, for a little dog with no skills, and has had no life per se, she has been a wonderful testament to Rescue and foster caring.  We know and can see the difference it has made for her and with your help we will have her surgery completed and she will be ready for a wonderful life because we worked together for her.  Thankyou so much everyone, we will keep you posted on her condition tomorrow.
