We are watching little Zoe like a Lioness watches her cubs at the moment, making sure we aren't missing anything, and ensuring she gets everything she needs for a recovery back to health. It is not easy caring for a little one like this - and while it appears noble, it's hard work, and at times you have to read between the lines and guess what their needs are, read their reactions and act accordingly.
Zoe didn't eat much yesterday, her first day in care. Not suprising, but we really need her to eat. And medicating her is proving impossible with her sore mouth, she is also hand shy around her facial region (probably from long term pain in that area). So Mum Evon dropped in at the clinic and we have given her an injection of antibiotics to ensure she has the best chance of recovery.
Her temp is fine, and she is sleeping alot, well no wonder. She is exhausted. Slightly anaemic, had surgery, and probably in the last few days the biggest change in her life. Good news is she has eaten little meals today and seems a little brighter, which we are so happy about. Fingers crossed, just one tiny step forward every day will get her towards the health she so desperately deserves.
She will be able to have a bath in a day or so, meanwhile she looks a little scruffy, but that's ok, none of us look too good when we are unwell. Meanwhile she trit trots outside, loves the sun, potters around and trit trots onto her bed.
