I have had the pleasure of having Matilda stay with us today at home. She was so stressed at the vets, she paced constantly in the cage going around and around, Barry and I collected her around 11 am and took her home. We thanked Jarrett (and he got a nice box of choccies too, as did the other staff) for saving her life, and working until nearly midnight. What can we say? We just love our vets. They are outstanding and incredibly kind and focused people. Did we say we love our vets? Here is Jarrett handing over Matilda this morning.
Today Tilly has spent the day with the Norman gang. She has been out in the courtyard pottering around. She has been in the kitchen blocked off, so she can do her thing and find her surroundings. Right now she is curled up under a blanket and I did hear some snoring. She has eaten very little, and drank less, but she nearly died last night, and we all agreed, let her sleep as much as she can, and let her body do the rest. Matilda has had a life of hell. Her body is depleted and she has suffered, it shows in everything she does. Her will to survive is so raw and so poignant, you cannot help but be swept up with it. She potters, she sleeps she eats. Good for her. From the look of her tummy she as bore many babies, in a state that we can only imagine, and she has endured this. She is fragile, delicate and transient. But she is here now with us, and we are grateful. Linda her Mum is coming to collect her shortly. How blessed we have been today with all our bubs being so respectful of a little dog who has suffered such an enormous amount. Perhaps it is better she cannot speak, for I don't know I would want to hear her story. Just to know her is enough. Get well soon darling girl, We think you are amazing.
